Scotty Bowman doesn't need a bio, client wanted a card to commemorate his final coaching year, 2001-02, with the Red Wings.
Armand Delmonte also played one NHL game with the Boston Bruins. The native of Timmins, Ontario starred in junior with the OHA's St. Catharines Falcons. In the mid-40s he scored 56 goals over two seasons with the EHL's Boston Olympics and played his lone NHL game in 1945-46. In1947-48 he began a successful run of four years on the St. Paul Saints of the USHL where he accumulated 80 goals. Delmonte then bounced around four leagues over the next three years before retiring in 1954. Six times in his career he notched 20 or more goals and three times had 30 or more. John Erskine was the 2nd choice, 39th overall selection of the Dallas Stars in the 1998 NHL Entry Draft. The 6'4", 215 lb. defenseman spent three seasons on the OHL's London Knights blue line, accumulating more than 650 penalty minutes. Not known for his offensive prowess, Erskine had a career high 43 points during his final year in London before joining Dallas' IHL affiliate in Utah for the 2000-01 season. He made his NHL debut with the Stars in 2001-02, and went on to seeing limited action with Dallas before being dealt to the New York Islanders in 2005. He signed as a free agent with the Capitals for 2007-08 and spent 7 seasons in Washington before injuries forced his retirement. His only card as a Capital would be issued in 2011-12, client wanted a custom using a pic he had that showed him doing what he did best..
Marcel Fillion had another one game NHL career as a Boston Bruin, playing a single contest in 1944-45. Other than his big league cameo, he was a prolific goal scorer in junior, senior and the minor leagues. He starred for the Shawinigan Cataracts and Quebec Sea Gulls between 1940-43. After setting out the 1943-44 season, Fillion scored 78 points in 46 games for the Boston Olympics of the Eastern League and was an integral component of their EHL championships in 1945 and 1947. He later played two years for the Sherbrooke Saints of the QSHL then retired in 1951. After sitting out one season he returned to play two years with the senior Rimouski Renards before hanging up his skates for good. Here is his Bruins custom rookie card.
Reggie Fleming was a hard-nosed player for six teams between 1959-60 and 1970-71. He was able to play defense and left-wing while providing grit and a bit of offense in his 749-game career. He started the 1963-64 season in Chicago but was dealt to Boston after 34 games. His '64-65 Tallboys card was issued as a Bruin, here's his Black Hawks custom.
Emile "The Cat" Francis enjoyed a close association with hockey that lasted over four decades but his NHL playing career consisted of only 95 regular season games with the NHL's Chicago Black Hawks and New York Rangers. His NHL rookie card was issued, as a coach, in the 1966-67 Topps set. Here are a pair of customs from his playing days.
