"Stormin” Norm Cash was a fan favorite in Detroit for his fun loving antics and genuine love of life. The 1961 season was easily the high water mark for Norm Cash’s career with 41 home runs and a batting average of .361 but it went mostly unnoticed. Besides playing baseball Cash was also drafted in the 13th round of the 1955 NFL Draft as a halfback by the Chicago Bears. Instead, he chose baseball, signing with the Chicago White Sox as an outfielder on May 21, 1955. Although Cash wore a Cleveland cap on his 1960 Topps baseball card, he never played an inning for the Indians. On April 12, 1960 he found himself traded and he became a fixture at first base in Detroit for 15 years. Client wanted a revised 1966 Topps custom creation.
